Definizione

The apparatus used to extract the juice from grapes by application of pressure. 1

Nota

This type of press is sometimes referred to as a Willmer or Bucher press, after the names of the original companies of manufacture. Pressing in a pneumatic press is a relatively gentle, low pressure, operation. The press rotates, and a central rubber bag, bladder or sheet is inflated by means of compressed air. The grapes are pressed against the entire slotted cylinder – a much larger surface area than in the plate press. 2

Contesto

It is a fast and efficient type of press, similar in function to larger horizontal pneumatic presses 3
