Definizione

The lack of normal seed-production in some Vitis vinifera varieties. 1

Nota

There are several well-known clonal varieties of the European grape (Vitis vinifera) which bear seedless fruits. The fruit of these grapes have either mere rudiments of seeds or soft seeds that are not noticeable when the pulp of the fruit is marticated.
Seedless grapes were classified into two types, stenospermic and parthenocarpic. […]. Many stenospermic cultivars have large bunches and good fruit qualities, preferred for table grapes or raisin production around the world. 2

Contesto

The nature and level of seedlessness in the F progeny were affected by the genome of both parent cultivars and their interaction. 3
