adj.

Definizione

A descriptive term for a wine which is relatively weighty on the palate. 1

Nota

A wine with rich, complex, well-rounded, lingering flavor is considered full-bodied; one that's watery or lacking in body is called light-bodied or thin; a medium bodied wine ranks in between. Not all wines strive for a full-bodied characteristic, namely those whose hallmark may be finesse, such as champagne. Dessert wines, like rich Sauternes, are considered full-bodied partly because the residual sugar adds weight and texture. 2

Contesto

In general, light-bodied wines tend to "feel" more like water in the mouth. In contrast, "full-bodied" wines feel heavier, more like milk, this effect is due in large part to the higher tannin (and again, alcohol) content. 3
