pl. n.

Definizione

Hand-held scissors used for winter pruning of vines. 1

Nota

Normally the blades are curved and slide one past the other for a cutting action. Two-handled secateurs are used for cutting larger-diameter and older wood of the vine. Pruning can be faster, more effective, and less tiring with pneumatic secateurs with the pressure supplied from a portable compressor. Several pruners can operate from a single compressor, which is often powered by a tractor. 2

Contesto

The secateurs will perform the most difficult pruning operations and have the power to cut straight through a hardened broom handle. 3
