Etimologia

Living: early 14c., "the fact of dwelling in some place," from O.E. lifiende, prp. of lifan (see live (v.)). The noun meaning "action, process, or method of gaining one's livelihood" is attested from 1530s. Living memory "within the memory of people still living" is attested from 1855.
Support: late 14c., from O.Fr. supporter, from L. supportare "convey, carry, bring up," from sub "up from under" + portare "to carry". 5
